LONDON –The people have spoken and Tara, Swan Lake, and Carmen trumped their competitors to win a spot in Orchestra London’s By Request Pops concert, Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Centennial Hall.
The Pops series opener, conducted by beloved Principal Pops Conductor Brian Jackson, features works voted in by Orchestra London’s audiences this past April.
“I introduced the all-request show idea to audiences ten years ago. It has proved to be one of our most popular programs,” says Maestro Jackson. “I would now call it Democracy at work!”
OTTAWA-Baseball Canada is pleased to announce the winner of Canada’s Favourite Ballpark contest is Labatt Park in London, Ontario.
During a two-week voting period, where over 19,000 votes were cast, Labatt Park narrowly edged-out Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
“Baseball Canada congratulates Labatt Park and the residents of London, Ontario on winning this contest,” said Jim Baba, Director General of Baseball Canada.
“We believe that quality ballparks and baseball facilities across Canada play a major role in promoting out sport. Labatt Park is all of that along with having a rich history that many ball players, not only in London but across this country, have had the experience of living first hand.”

Harry's Automotive Located At Adelaide & Huron (1103 Adelaide St. N.)
Closed its Doors This Week after Decades of Excellent
Automotive Service to North Londoners.
After decades of providing excellent automotive repair and oil change service to North London, Harry's Automotive Centre abruptly closed its doors this week. A sign went up last week announcing the property is up for lease. The future of the automotive garage and the property is up in the air.
We became instant and loyal customers of Harry's Automotive when we moved to Kipps Lane in 1999. We used the oil change centre and relied on excellent technicians who took care of many small problems with our cars. We will miss the staff of Harry's. They were great.
