Clearly Disappointed Horse Won't Make it to this weekend's Home County Festival

But "Jersey" is Clearly Disappointed that She Won't go to

This Year's Home County   Festival - The Human hasn't decided whether to go yet.

He'd Better Have $5 for the  Donation Sticker Though!

 

The City of London would like everyone to enjoy these special events and encourages pet owners to leave their animals at home.  Large crowds and noise are not the ideal environment for pets.

• Street Renaming of a portion of Hale and Trafalgar Streets – public participation meeting -7:00 pm
• Status update on subdivision applications
• Mid-2011 report on development charges rate monitoring
• Market Lane Design Competition – information report

Community and Neighbourhoods Committee

• Proposed Taxi/Limousine By-law – Proposed by-law to be tabled. Delegation to appear at 4:45 pm. Public participation meeting to be scheduled for September.
• Possible elimination of plastic bags as a recycling container – additional information – delegation from Jay Stanford at 5:00 pm.
• Expanding scope of animal welfare initiatives as part of the City’s animal services program – public participation meeting at 7:00 pm.

Tree watering alert now in effect

Due to over 10 days with little or no rain, and no significant amount of rainfall in the forecast, the City has issued a tree watering alert. Londoners are being asked to water new and mature trees on private property.

 

Drought is the major cause of tree stress and can lead to permanent damage, especially in young trees. Lengthy periods without rain - typically a week or more - can lead to the most common symptoms of stress appearing, including browning and wilting of leaves. Sometimes the symptoms of drought stress are not visible until the next year, when they appear in the form of insect attacks and disease.

Charlie and Wally met up at the country store one hot summer day. Charlie looked up and said "Hey Wally, Are you going fishing today?"

Wally answered "Yup!"

Charlie Asked Wally if he had worms

Wally said "I sure do, but the doctor said I could go anyway."

Every Gardener Tucks a Gnome or Some other Plastic

or Stone Creature somewhere in their Garden. Some have More Decorations than Plants.

Here are Mine - Although I doubt my 15 year old cat (Sarah) would like to be called a decoration.

Sarah LOVES SUMMER AND SHE LOVES THE GARDEN!!
