"Non - Partisan Voters are CHUMPS".............Or so I'm Told. All through the 2006 Municipal election I regularly received emails from an acquaintance stating what you see in the title. The writer was trying to tell me to back a candidate or get off the pot. I tried to be non-partisan for the good of the Kipps Lane Community Association. But the emailer was right. At some point it's best to back a candidate. Now that the KLCA has changed, I feel free to voice the way I will vote at the end of October...........IF ANYONE CARES. MAYOR....................It's time for a change. Politics shouldn't be a life-long career. Currently there is only one candidate with the money, political experience and the name recognition to give the current Mayor a race for the job. That would be Joe Fontana. Time will tell if his energy level picks up as the election draws nearer. He can't beat DeCicco-Best without a tremendous effort.

Windsor Spitfires have Reached the Memorial Cup
for the Third Third in their 34 year History -Knights Not So Much Click here to read everything about the 2010 Memorial Cup and tune in to watch the games live! But one things for sure, you won't find the London Knights in any game. They aren't playing hockey any more this year. The Spitfires lost in the Championship game of the 1988 Memorial Cup 7-6 in a wild game to the Medicine Hat team. They easily beat Kamloops last year and who knows what will happen this year. The Knights won the OHL and made it to the big show once where they won the Memorial Cup in 2004-2005. Since they were sold to the Hunters and moved to the JLC they have been transformed into perennial winners but Londoners don't seem to realize that that doesn't automatically translate into yearly OHL championships and Memorial Cups wins. Many other teams in the OHL have modernized their scouting, marketing and player development and want to win just as bad as they do. This is not your granddaddy's OHL. The Spits have now been there 3 times and so far. They have one once with a chance for a second close at hand. They easily handled the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Friday Night Opener. The Spits have won the OHL Championship 3 Times in thier history (1987-1988), (2008-2009), (2009-2010)
