On Tuesday September 16 2008 at 1:55 am residents at 1199 Glenora Drive awoke to a small fire their residence. No one was injured.
Police and Fire were called. Police are currently holding the scene and believe that this was not a random act.

Early Childhood Centre to Open Next to Northbrae P.S. December 2008
While this program will cooperate and work with the Kipps Lane Initiativeit is a separate project from the Kipps Lane Initiative. Planning for it began several years ago, far ahead of the Kipps Lane Initiative (KLI). It is a separate project. It is totally funded by the Ontario Provincial Government.
A new Ontario Childhood Development Centre will open December 2008 in an addition to the North wing of Northbrae public School. There will be a Day Care operated by YMCA staff. There is room for 61children. Call City of London Neighbourhood and Child Services for more Information.
There will also be a host of new services for children, youth and teens and their parents. Other service providers will be hired to run these programs. After school hours they will make use of school facilities such as the gym and other rooms. Many programs will be offered that will foster better relations between children and parents as well as teach youth life skills they will need as they mature into adults.
While the facilities are not completely finished and the road work on Belfield is not comple, the tentative start date is set for sometime in September. Again, please call City Hall at 519 661-2500 and ask for Neighbourhood and Child Services for More information.
16 year old robs 15 year old at Sir George Ross S.S. Today - Suspect Flees
On Tuesday September 9 2008 at 2 pm a 15 year old male was approached by a 16 year old male at Sir George Ross Secondary School located at 365 Belfield Street.
The 16 year old brandished a knife and demanded property from the victim.
The suspect patted down the victim but did not find any property on him. The suspect fled and Police were called. The suspect was identified and Police are currently looking for the 16 year old male for Robbery.
GOLS coaches, leaders, MPP Ramal at cheque presentation
On August 28th, MPP Khalil Ramal, London Fanshawe, was pleased to present The GOLS SOCCER CLUB with a cheque for $10,598. GOLS Soccer Club is a not-for-profit soccer club founded in 2006.
CIAF provides funding to not-for-profit organizations at the local and provincial levels to improve opportunities for community sport and physical activity.
GOLS Soccer Club provides soccer programs to newly immigrated children and youth. The soccer programs are year round. Indoor facilities at the North London Optimist Community Centre provide excellent facilities during the winter months.
This funding will allow the GOLS Soccer Club to fund facility rental, coaches and portable equipment.
“This funding will provide many people in this community with a chance to be more active,” said Ramal. “The additional programs that will be created or enhanced through these grants will help to ensure that residents in London are getting stronger and healthier.”

London Police Service is currently conducting Project L.E.A.R.N. in the City. The Project has just concluded its first week and officers laid a total 291 charges including 283 Provincial Offence Act charges and By -law offences Laid and 9 Criminal Code Charges Laid. Of those charges laid 187 were students and 65 were non students.
One of the latest incidents included Police arresting a 17 year old male of Etobicoke for fighting on Fleming Drive causing a large group of people to gather on September 2nd at 1:13 am. This male was charged with resisting arrest and causing a disturbance.
Officers will continue to patrol the areas surrounding downtown, the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College.
