There are many softball leagues in London. Some are organized by bars. Some are organized by church groups. And others are organized by Well organized and well funded members of softball leagues.
This one is different.
Players in the league are often clients of Mission Services, the Salvation Army - Centre of Hope or W.O.T.C.H. - Therapeutic Housing services. They love the recreation and friendship the league brings.
LONDON –Among the best albums of all time, Rubber Soul and Revolver were a bridge between the Beatles’ early pop magic and the genius that was Sgt. Pepper and afterwards. Orchestra London and The Jeans ‘n Classics Band will bring the Beatles’ brilliance to life on stage, October 14 and 15 at Centennial Hall, in the Orchestra’s Red Hot Weekends series opener.
Performing the complete North American versions of both Rubber Soul and Revolver, this musical event features conductor Jeff Christmas and lead vocalists Neil Donell and David Blamires.
Rubber Soul and Revolver were the sixth and seventh Beatles albums, respectively, and each topped the North American charts for six weeks.

Non-Violent Protest Advocated by the Late Martin Luther King Jr. (Civil Rights Leader)
Beal Student Protest Against Tasering of Student involved in Fight
About Two years ago I witnessed a protest by students in front of City Hall that was very similar to the one just held against the LPS Officer who used a Taser device to subdue a youth involved in a fight.
In both demonstrations there were angry and sometimes vulgar chants and bad feelings when the protest ended. I wondered what the reaction would be when images of the latest protest hit the evening news and the next day's newspapers. Did the protest actually accomplish any of its goals?
I grew up in the post civil rights era of the seventies and I have studied Dr. King Jr.'s deep beliefs in non-violent protest. I think they are worth a look at in light of the events of the past week in London.
"From his deep studies of Gandhi and his own experience, Martin Luther King Jr. developed a list of six facts to help people understand non-violent resistance and join with him in his vision."
