In the middle of February when it seems like winter will never end there is a quick, cheap pick me up  for your homes. Go to your local nursery or home store and pick up some long leafy, colourful tropical plants. Park them in front of an east or south facing window and make sure they are well care cared for. They will be a daily reminder that spring and summer are coming. Plants are a non-medicinal psychological pick me up for humans who don't take well to long winter days and nights. Some grocery stores even carry a nice selection throughout the winter
