Thames Valley District School Board 2009 Special Olympics
The Thames Valley District School Board, in partnership with Investing in Children and Special Olympics Ontario, is proud to host its annual Special Olympics Track & Field Meet. This meet provides three fun-filled days of fellowship and athletic competition for students with developmental challenges. It is expected to draw nearly 900 athletes and their peer coaches from 53 Thames Valley schools. May 25 is designated for the secondary event while elementary students will compete on May 27 and 28.
This event will be held at T.D. Waterhouse Stadium at the University of Western Ontario. The day will begin with an Olympic March and Opening Ceremonies followed by both track and field competitions as well as other special events. The ceremonies begin at 10:00 a.m. and the events should conclude by 2:00 p.m.
