The City has requested that the Board construct the premises so that it is appropriate for use as a day nursery for fifty-six (56) spaces including ten (1O) infant, ten (1O) toddler, sixteen (16) pre-school and twenty (20) junior kindergarten senior kindergarten spaces.
The City has also requested that the Board renovate the premises so that it is appropriate as a Learning and Care Hub ("Hub).
The Hub services will not include: Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Programs; addictions counseling, or drug rehabilitation programs.
The Hub services may include: Parenting Programs like How to Talk so Kids will Listen, Anti-Bullying, Terrific Toddlers, Feeding your Infants, Nobody’s Perfect;
Early learning activities like playgroups, Family Math, early literacy programs:
Child and family health programs like Well Baby clinics, Infant hearing screening , Blind Low Vision Program for infants and children with vision issues,
Nutrition Programs with Community Food Advisors, speech and language;
Children workshops on Temper Tricking, Anger Management, Social Skills help,
Parenting workshops, Teen Parents Programming;
Recreation Services (Leisure classes like Chess, Arts & Crafts workshops).
