Mural Under Adelaide-Windermere Bridge Completely RestoredTo View a Photo of the Mural after it was Destroyed by Graffiti Vandals only Months after Completion in 2008 Click Here To my great surprise and pleasure I recently discovered that somone or some group has completely restored the defaced mural on the underbelly of the Adelaide/Windermere Bridge. The Mural was coated with a protective coating against graffiti when it was completed in 2008. It must have taken a great deal of careful scrubbing and water blasting to clean the mural but it is now in perfect condition. How long it stays in that condition is anyone's guess. Last time out the first graffiti appeared on the wall 4 months after completion of the Project by summer students.
However flies in the ointment remain . Why was the huge graffiti mural on the north side of the underbelly of the bridge left completely untouched while all this restoration went on. In additon there is the question as to who paid to restore this mural when in most cases the City simply repaints these walls with gray paint? Interesting question. To see photos of the wall before it was damaged in 2008 and how it looks presently click here. Navigate to the correct sets and you can see the students who created it and what it looks like now.
