Loud Partying Students on Kipps Lane Silenced by PoliceWhile Kipps Lane and area is home to hundreds if not a couple of thousand student tenants from UWO and Fanshawe it is not part of Project Liquor Enforcement and Noise Reduction L.E.A.R.N. Residents still deal with some students in the fall and spring who party on their weekends which begin on Thursday night and end on Sunday night. Ward 4 Councillor: Stephen Orser Last Thursday night those in our household had heard enough of the screaming, yelling and discussing from apartment to apartment on balconies all fueled by some form of alcohol and God knows what else. All it took was one call to the cops to an operator who didn't really apppreciate a call she seemed to consider as trivial.
Within minutes all the noise stopped cold. You could have thought you were in a funeral home after Bambi got shot. Dead silence. A cruiser must have been in the neighbourhood and went to the address that I gave. I'm sure the seniors in the single family homes across the street from the building in question appreciated the quiet as well. We all thank these LPS Officers for such quick action. A good nights sleep is a good thing. Somewhow Councillors MacDonald and Orser can't comprehend the student problems that we have in their Wards. I brought this issue up with Bernie during the last election with no results.
With the completion of an eleven story high rise across the street directly aiming at students with many luxury amenities most students could only dream of its only a matter of time before the well heeled students move in and start clinking their beer bottles, wine coolers and other beverages. A third high rise directly facing Kipps Lane will soon have all its concrete forming finished. Orser is proud of these three Blossom Gate buildings.
However he doesn't live anywhere near them and he won't address the many questions surrounding this development posed to him by myself in an email some time ago. Homeowners on Kipps Lane which are next to the three Blossom Gate buildings are eager to talk to him about them as well. I've talked to a few of them and they and I have many questions for Stephen if he ever wants to bring his red truck around for a chat on Kipps Lane.
