I've never been in a fire but I've had a few close close calls, mostly due to my own stupidity. One time it was just a cooking accident where oil starting splattering all about and there were a few flames in the oven. I quickly took my ABC Fire Extinguisher and sprayed the yellow powder in the oven.
The fire was out but it took me a week to clean up the powder and as it was under pressure in the extinguisher. It also cost us $30 for a new extinguisher. And in case you are wondering ABC essentially means it can put out out paper, grease and virtually any other fires.
ABC is a standard that you can find on any quality all purpose fire extinguisher that you can buy for your apartment, kitchen or household. If you want to buy one get it at a good hardware store and ask the salesperson for help so you get the right product. AVOID THE DOLLAR STORE.
We avoided a bigger fire, and made a mess but we were safe. The mess got cleaned up and everyone was safe. That was the most important thing.
On yeah, Sparky told me one other thing this week. DON'T EVER USE YOUR OVEN OR BURNERS TO HEAT YOUR APARTMENT. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR PETS, CHILDREN AND OFTEN LEADS TO HUGE FIRES. Get your furnace fixed, buy a small space heater that doesn't overload your circuits and pile up the blankets.
I thought it was a firefighter. Damn you just never know who will be wearing a superdog outfit. I've got a soft spot for funny mascots and celebrities with a sense of humour. Two weeks ago I met the Hanson Brothers. Swell guys!! If it was Mr. Fielding I hope he enjoyed the press conference and all the attention. He will have a busy week ahead of him with all the fire prevention week appearances.
