When I was a child, I used to believe that all people cared about each other, but when I grew up I saw that people tended to try to ignore those in need, and put their need for money and THINGS ahead of their desire to help another person.

When I was a child I used to believe that the government wanted to protect ALL people and make it possible for everyone to live a happy, healthy and productive life...but my experience in the adult world has shown me that the government exists to make individuals more powerful.

To ensure that the few ALWAYS have what they want, and that the many pay for those services.

I used to think that everyone including employers had a vested interest in having healthy, happy citizens. But in North America people work hard every single day, sometimes MORE than 40 hours a week to MAKE ENDS MEET!

A few privileged people are able to make more than enough to pay to have a comfortable life, and they don't care...or forget that the people who helped put them there are going home to cold apartments or empty fridges.

Businesses don't care if their employees can afford to have a roof over their head, food in their stomachs or even clean, decent clothes to wear. Just so long as their job gets done....life is good. Just so long as the CEOS have enough millions to live in ridiculously overpriced homes and spend, spend, spend....life is good.

Why can't these bloated- salaried, over-wealthy people see that if EVERYONE had enough money to live on, to afford a nice place to live, to save for their retirement and had decent work hours with enough rest time off to make them healthy and productive....then EVERYONE would benefit.

Why do the 1% of the "haves" seem to think that they are the only ones who can spend enough to keep the economy moving...they can't by the way. You need a lot of people able to afford food and shelter to keep other people working. Not just a few people. The "haves" tend to have outright ownership on more than one place to live and the contribute barely anything to the places they own their homes.

Tax loopholes or shelters keep them from having to pay their fair share. They are not the ones who are making the wheels turn in society. But they'd rather work the rest of us to DEATH to have million dollar salaries and benefits that no average citizen will ever enjoy.

A few businesses paying their FAIR share of taxes, and a few wealthier individuals with LESS tax loopholes to hide in....would make things easier for everyone. There would be more money for things like...dental care, vision care and drug care for all. We wouldn't have a society where people live in lousy apartments because the shareholders are more important and the profits are everything....not the renters who pay the profits.

I'm so tired of having to try to save 80 bucks for a stupid eye exam because the government had to cancel our vision care in order to make their ends meet, because of course we can't tax businesses...they'd take their business elsewhere....where they can make the most money. Well wake up Canada....THEY ALREADY ARE.....manufacturing by the TON is heading to China and other poor-wage countries where hey....businesses can get a pile of money and not have to worry about whether or not the people who make their crummy, easily broken garbage have enough food or a place to sleep.

When will those things as a child I used to believe in....be REALITY??

I'd like to see a world where ALL people are indeed equal. Where war is a thing of the past....where tolerance of others is always present....and where there is no want from any of it's citizens. I know I am describing a Utopia...but we're HUMANS we were smart enough to make the type of world we have today....we're smart enough to make Utopia as well!!!
