FESTIVE RIDE TIME?

There are now 27 “shopping” days left before Christmas.  While people are now counting the number of shopping opportunities, police are counting the increased opportunities for impaired driving.

The next month is a prime time for office holiday parties and other social functions associated to Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.M.A.D.D announced their “Red Ribbon Campaign” on November 2nd.

Police Services throughout Ontario are now announcing the Festive RIDE campaign from November 26 through to the first week in January.London Police have been utilizing the increased RIDE funding from the provincial government since September targeting holiday weekends, homecoming and other drinking activities.

The RIDE programs will continue on a weekly basis through the end of the year.

While we head through the holiday season police want everyone to be vigilant about not drinking and driving and also to take an active role in attempting to keep others from doing it as well.
