On Saturday March 6 2010 at 2 pm an off duty OPP officer observed a suspicious male exit a vehicle in a parking lot on Dundas Street near Wavell and contacted the London Police.

The male left in the vehicle and was observed by a London Police officer at Dundas Street approaching Clarke Road. The driver failed to stop for Police and a pursuit was initiated then discontinued shortly thereafter. The vehicle proceeded to the area of Heritage Road near Plover Road where a spike belt was deployed successfully puncturing one of the tires.

The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued driving.  When the vehicle was travelling southbound on Highbury Avenue, just north of Medway Road, the suspect intentionally swerved into the oncoming lane at an Ontario Provincial Police officer standing outside of a marked Police cruiser.

The suspect proceeded back into the City of London and at 2:58 pm the suspect was observed by an officer exiting the vehicle, fleeing on foot, in the area of Cheapside Street near Sandford Street.  Police arrested the suspect after he was found hiding in a shed on Sandford Street and resisted arrest. The officers involved did not receive any injuries. The vehicle was reported stolen on January 21 2010 from a parking lot on Falcon Street and a licence plate found on the stolen vehicle was reported stolen from a vehicle on December 20 2010 from a Southdale Road residence driveway. Shaun Heskett, 33 years of London is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, disqualified operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop for Police, resist arrest and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
