The Veggie City Project is up and running in Kipps Lane and the Northeast. Young People, residents, local community agencies, and the City of London will be working together this summer to develop a unique spin on a "backyard bounty" style of Community Shared Agriculture for London.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS!

Young People learn to grown and harvest veggies from local resident mentors.

Residents provide physical garden space in their backyard and puchase a share of the collective crop

of  veggies grown in the neighbourhood.

Resident mentors who may or may not have a backyard share their knowledge and skills as

volunteers and receive a share of the harvest.

The young people and the residents share the benefits of organically grown vegetables and

environmental sustainability.

Weekly pickups of the local part of the collected harvest build community connections and

relationships.

Opportunities for cooking, canning and celebrating food are built on, as we rediscover our

ability to feed ourselves locally.
