The City of London would like to remind residents that several weeks without substantial rain has left trees in desperate need of water.
Please water your trees – it’s as easy as turning on your garden hose to a slow trickle and leaving it at the base of your tree.
You can also take a 20 litre (five gallon) bucket, drill a few holes in the bottom, fill it with water and then set the bucket next to the tree letting the water seep slowly. This provides enough water for the tree each week.
Trees do not require much water - about 2.5 cm (one inch) of water per week.
