News programs on television, radio and the internet have also been discussing these pests. I checked the Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) web site and they have an excellent Fact Sheet posted on these critters.

(It takes a few seconds to load.)

These critters are very real, and although not a health issue per se, what they do to a person emotionally, financially and in may other ways is very real. A landlord's reticence to use the proper methods of extermination is an unneeded problem, but there seems to be very few options open to tenants to deal with this. Please be very careful of where you are and what you bring into your home. Believe me you don't want to tolerate living with Bed Bugs.
