During the week of September 19, City of London Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will be carrying out an enforcement blitz of the Idling Control By-Law at London schools, malls, and other locations to raise awareness of the City of London’s Idling Control By-Law.
Under the Idling Control By-Law, vehicles are not permitted to idle for more than two minutes.
During the enforcement blitz,officers will be issuing $50 tickets to offenders.
“Since the passing of the Idling By-Law, our interactions with the public have been focused on education of the by-law. During this blitz a zero tolerance approach will be employed” said Orest Katolyk, Manager of Licensing and Municipal Law Enforcement Services for the City of London.
