There are many softball leagues in London. Some are organized by bars. Some are organized by church groups. And others are organized by Well organized and well funded members of softball leagues.
This one is different.
Players in the league are often clients of Mission Services, the Salvation Army - Centre of Hope or W.O.T.C.H. - Therapeutic Housing services. They love the recreation and friendship the league brings.
They came out this summer to McMahon park with the help of staff from the Centre of Hope and other agencies and had a great time. After games some stayed and had a small bbq and a pop. Everyone was welcome. Age, gender, ability to play were no barriers in this league.
They have big hopes for next year's league. The program needs some donations and help for next year. Let's hope some donors step up to the plate for this new league.
