Aboutown Taxi is Going Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
(LONDON – Ontario)
Aboutown Taxi is joining hundreds of other taxi, limo and transportation fleets across North America. ABOUTOWN Transportation is designating taxis, Airport shuttle Airbus Express and Executive Sedan Service vehicles, branding them with pink accents for the month of October to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer.
A portion from each designated Taxi, Executive Sedan as well as Airbus reservation booked during the month of October, will be directly donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. There is no additional charge to passengers and drivers are not collecting donations. At the end of the month ABOUTOWN president and CEO, Jim Donnelly will announce the donation tally. “This is a way for us to use our presence on the road each day to raise some awareness, and help raise some money,” Donnelly says.
The idea of vehicles “going pink” is part of the international “Pink Ride” program spearheaded by the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association (TLPA) a global association of for-hire vehicle fleet owners representing 1,000 companies, and with Donnelly as the associations International Vice President, it's proper that the project comes to London.
Established in 1917, the Taxicab, Limousine& Paratransit Association (TLPA) is a non-profit trade association of and for the private passenger transportation industry. Its extensive membership spans the globe to include 1,000 companies.
ABOUTOWN Transportation was established in 1947 as a small fleet of taxis, and has since grown to encompass all forms of ground transportation throughout Southern Ontario. London remains ABOUTOWN's home and headquarters. For more information, please visit www.aboutown.com.
