Balconies in Bloom From April to October | Print |  E-mail

From April to October I light up my balcony with tropical plants just dying to catch some real sunshine after a long winter on a shelf in my apartment. They love the sunshine and warm air. Soon they will be joined with summer annuals like impatiens, petunias, marigolds and of course those six foot tall climbing cherry tomatoes.

This plant came home last Feb. from Price Chopper for $1.99 - It was in a tiny cup then

I encourage the tens of thousands of apartment dwellers in Londoners to join the "Balconies in Bloom" crowd. All you need is one little flower or you can fill your balcony with as many colours as you wish. Just be creative. Pick up a four pack of annuals for a buck at the grocery store and get started.

Spring and summer only last so long and then your tropicals have to head inside again. You don't need a green thumb. You just need a nice chair to sit in on your balcony, a cold drink and a few beautiful flowers to admire. Go on, I know you are dying to pick one up!!!
