Work on McNay Drain & Path in Ed Blake Park to start in September
At a public meeting held on April 3 at Monseigneur Bruyere Catholic French S.S, in Northeast London, residents heard that a remediation project in the McNay Drain
McNay Drain - Work Starts in Sept.
would finally be completed this summer.
At that time one City official pegged the start date as mid-July if Council gave all necessary approvals. Recently I photographed the drain and the area of the park next to the Drain where a path is supposed to be installed.
The path is to be installed from the beginning of the drain near the school and end at the Thames River Parkway.
I spoke with The City of London's Manager of Stormwater Management, Ms. Berta Krichker on July 23rd and she was able to clarify the situation. No work could be started before September due to environmental laws related due times in the year when fish spawn.
She assured me that pending Council approval of contracts, work on the remediation project in the McNay Drain will commence in September. Work on the path which will be carried by a different City department as the remediation project progresses.
The Northeastender.ca will continue to follow this issue and progress in September will be reported on this site.
