This entertaining movie is supposed to be set in 1971 and based on a real bank robbery. It's entertaining from the get-go. It looks like an episode from Eastenders with the grimy streets, crooked deals going on in the shops and the shady characters. Then it starts moving.
Photos of a very sensitive nature of members of the Royal Family must be retrieved from a small branch of a bank and several layers of institutions and petty criminals get involved to pull it off for various reasons.
It's a very entertaining DVD rental and a great way to spend a Saturday night or any night at $5.99. British films seem a touch more realistic and much more human. I doubt they are paid the obscene bucks to star in these movies and their lack of egos show in their films. The Bank Job gets 4 buckets out of 5. There are more twists and turns to the story than you can keep up with. Get your snacks. Take your washroom break before the movie and stay for the duration. God Save the Queen.
