Yet Another Serious Blow to the Brunswick Tavern/Hotel | Print |  E-mail
Written by See_Article
Saturday, 08 November 2008
On Saturday, November 08, 2008, at approximately 3:00am, the London Police Service, along with the London Fire Department, were called to the Brunswick Hotel, located at 331 Talbot Street in regards to a fire.  When emergency crews arrived, they found the building engulfed in flames, and it took approximately an hour and a half to extinguish the fire.  Damage to the building is estimated at approximately $300,000.

The building was undergoing demolition prior to the fire and at this point, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.  Fire inspectors, as well as the London Police Service Criminal Investigation Division Arson detectives will be continuing the investigation throughout the day today.  Due to the structural integrity of the building, as well as to facilitate the investigation, Talbot Street between King Street and York Street is closed, as well as one westbound lane of York Street.

If anyone has any information in regards to this fire, they are asked to call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670, or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.londoncrimestoppers.com
