Downtown roads to close tomorrow for public safety

York Street and Talbot Street will be closed to traffic for the next two days while demolition of the former Brunswick Hotel takes place.

For public safety, York Street will close between Ridout Street and Richmond Street, and Talbot Street will be closed between York Street and King Street.

Public access to businesses in the affected area will be restricted, especially in the immediate area of the demolition. London Police Service personnel will be determining access, on an as-needed basis.

The contractor performing the work, in conjunction with the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of the Environment, is taking every precaution to ensure the demolition takes place in the safest fashion possible.
