Three More Young Canadian Soldiers Killed by Roadside Bombs - Dec. 13th
Canadian Soldiers must play cat and mouse with COWARDLY TERRORISTS instead of fighting the Taliban and delivering humanitarian aid to people in Afghanistan. Too often they are dying in this stupid game that they can't win.

3 Canadian families had just finished laying their sons to rest when more terrible news came out of Afghanistan. On December 13th three more young Canadian soldiers were killed by ROADSIDE BOMBS.  The politically correct term used on the news and in the papers to describe these devices is "IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICES" OR IED'S."

They are the the equivallent of small boobey traps or mines placed in fields and many other places of war. There only purpose is to mame and kill. These roadside bombs are placed where next to major roadways where soldiers must pass by. They are detonated by handheld devices by killers a long distance away, hidden from site. They are powerful enough to blow up a truck or tank.

You may think that this war has nothing to do with London but you are wrong. Last fall a park was dedicated in a new subdivision in North London on Sunningdale to honour Trooper Mark Wilson who was killed in Afghanistan. I attended the ceremonies. You could have heard a pin drop during the most solemn moments as the childrens choir from his former elementary school in London sang.

Other reservists from London are either preparing to go or know that it is a real possibility. The Canadian government has pledged to stay in Afghanistan until 2011. Families all over Ontario and Canada have had to endure the dreadful burial of their sons and daughters because of the war in Afghanistan. Many of them were killed by these ROADSIDE BOMBS, BY COWARDS.  Canada has now seen 103 fatalities during the Afghanistan war. Make no mistake, it is war. 103 fatalities for a small country like Canada is enormous.

WHAT IS INFURIATING IS THAT SO MANY OF THE DEATHS AND INJURIES ARE CAUSED WHEN THESE COWARDS DETONATE ROADSIDE BOMBS REMOTELY AND BLOW UP CANADIAN FORCES TRUCKS, TANKS AND OTHER VEHICLES. Canadian Forces cannot see the enemy or fight back in anyway. That is not war, it is terrorism.

That is not why Canadians were placed in harms way. Canadian soldiers spend large parts of their day trying to sweep the roads of these roadside bombs and yet the task is futile because what is clear one day is full of bombs the next. Take a moment and read the news, watch the television coverage and find out where, how and why these Canadians are dying. Do what you think is right. I just can't believe these brave men and women went to Afghanistan to be torn apart by cowards who won't even show their faces but they are willing to build bombs and detonate them from a distance.
